Nice shot Subi. The shot itself could be a bit sharper, but it looks fine to me otherwise.
I see you're enjoying that borrowed D50. Good for you :)

Excellent shot Stian, it could be a little bit sharper indeed but the "pose" of the butterfly gives a lot of dynamic to the photo! Lovely colours and composition :)

I think the photo is a bit unbalaced... maybe it's because of the pose. Overally very nice photo, though.

Wow. I am so amazed about this shot!!! Focus is perfect. And I know that butterflies constantly move, so you either must have waited a long time for the perfect moment or had a high shutter speed or both. Great capture, nice details, amazing focus, and great colors. Macro lens??? Sweet! +9/9.

Interesting how it seems to be forging through the flowers for necter. Oddly there is only two colors (for the most part), orange and yellow with a hint of green here and there. Your compositon is good, normally butterfly photos consist only of wings taken from the back.

Well, so you got a new dslr... that's good!

Things to do:

  • learn the basics (if you don't)
  • take a lot of photos
  • get more lenses
  • experiment
  • keep taking photos
About your photo: focus is really good and you have a nice DOF; I'd like to add that maybe you could crop the lower part were the flowers are, which is a little distracting... maybe trying another perspective or different perspectives of the same subject for a collage could be good also =)

7/8!
A bit more sharpness on the butterfly woudl have been ideal, but hey, Im not going to nit-pick. =)

Really nice. Not the best pose for his wonderfull wings, but I guess you didn't go for the wings, right? ;)

Beautiful execution and composition, and those colors and detailed wings make this just that much more incredible.
